On Friday,  October 14th we held our first Empowered PhXX Summit. It was the largest and possibly the best meeting we have had to date. Community resources, business owners, networking leaders came together to discuss what the Phoenix entrepreneurial ecosystem .

We had a full hour of connecting and sharing resources including our Support Wire and Upcoming Events Board.

We discussed challenges facing our community, research on building female entrepreneurship and the results of our survey.

The full slide deck is available on the website.

Most importantly we created an action plan for the next 6 months. Using the Wold Cafe Model we had a highly interactive dialogue, facilitated Kristine Quade and Laurie Battaglia We focused the conversation on things we could do as a collective, that we couldn’t do as individuals. The group agreed on three key areas to address in the next six months as critical first steps: creating a cohesive message,  building a strategy for outreach to media to increase exposure of female led ventures, finally outreach to politicians and local leaders.

We created committees to lead to discussion on each topic and move the initiative forward. If you are interested on helping lead these discussions email Kristin.

We will be holding an in-depth round table on those topics, every other month, the second Friday of the month from 10:00 – 12:00. So mark your calendars for the following dates:

Friday, December 9th – Message
Friday, February 10th  – Media
Friday, April 14th – Leadership Outreach

And then we will be another large Summit June 9th, 2017

In addition, we will all be using the #PhXX to share information on social media, we will continue to work on execute the market research study and we will be sending out month emails with critical updates, opportunities and tools that every leader in the Phoenix ecosystem needs to know to effective reach and serve female entrepreneurs.
